£26k – £30k depending on experience + excellent cash tips + quarterly bonus

As an Assistant General Manager with The Fitzherbert Arms you will be the perfect, supporting deputy to our General Manager however you will be a leader in your own right, motivating and developing your team to succeed in exceptional customer service

Who are you?

You are already an expert in all thing’s restaurant and bar departments and now you’re ready to lead the management team to run a successful business. You will be the go-to person for the whole team for queries, issues and questions, they will look up to you as a mentor and you will instil your enthusiasm for the hospitality industry on your team. You will take on HR responsibilities including appraisals, one to ones and recruitment. Once you have nailed the people aspect of your business and have a proven track record in exceeding in your sites financial performance, it will be time for you to start looking at the General Manager position. Remember, you are only as good as the people in your team so make sure you have someone ready to fill your shoes!

You will work with your General Manager to learn new skills to prepare you for your next step up the hospitality ladder. You will understand the overall strategy and vision of your General Manager and it is up to you do execute this perfectly across the business. You will deputise for the GM in their absence, leading by example at all times with a positive and upbeat attitude and ensuring the company standards are followed stringently

You will be an all-rounder, taking an interest in our events spaces, on-site accommodation and events such as car shows and port tastings.

Responsibilities include:

  • Ensure every guest interaction is ultra-positive and with the intention of getting them to have a return visit
  • Ensure your Duty Managers have development plans and are actively participating in training
  • Manage customer satisfaction regularly using the tools available, ensuring all guest feedback is dealt with in a professional and efficient manner
  • Alongside the General Manager, conduct probations and appraisals to monitor full team performance and development
  • Ensure Recruitment processes are adhered to at all times including all paperwork and onboarding process for new starters
  • Create and maintain a safe and comfortable working environment for all staff to flourish in.
  • Ensure staff records are kept up to date with training, absences, lateness, holidays etc.
